Business Process Improvement, Reengineering and Optimisation

End-to-end redesign or targeted improvement of specific workflows and operations. Whether the goal is incremental efficiency gains or a fundamental transformation, we bring structured methodology, manufacturing experience, and an independent perspective to every engagement.

What This Covers

Two levels of engagement, one methodology

Process improvement addresses specific areas of underperformance within an otherwise sound process. Process reengineering takes a clean-sheet approach when the process itself is the problem. Both use the same structured methodology, starting with a clear definition of what the process needs to achieve before any redesign begins.

We work with your team rather than for them. Every redesign involves the people who operate the process, because they understand it better than anyone and because changes they helped design are far more likely to be sustained.

Our Approach

How we structure an improvement engagement

1

Define the Target

We start with the performance outcome required: cycle time, error rate, cost, compliance standard. Without a measurable target, there is no way to know whether the redesign succeeded.

2

Document and Analyse the Current State

We map the process as it actually operates, not as it should according to a procedure that may not reflect reality. Every step, handoff, exception and workaround is captured.

3

Identify and Quantify Waste

We categorise every non-value-adding step: unnecessary movement, waiting, rework, duplication and over-processing. Each is quantified by cost and frequency before any redesign begins.

4

Redesign with the Process Owners

Future-state design is done in workshops with the people who run the process. They understand it better than anyone and they are the ones who will make it work.

5

Implement and Sustain

We support rollout, train the team, monitor compliance with the new process, and verify that the performance target has been achieved.

What Improvement Delivers

Typical outcomes from an improvement engagement

Reduced cycle times

Removing waiting, handoffs and non-value-adding steps compresses the time from process start to completion, often by 40 to 60 percent in administrative and approval workflows.

Lower error and rework rates

Processes that are clearly defined, documented and understood produce fewer errors. Rework, which typically consumes 15 to 25 percent of labour time in manufacturing operations, is significantly reduced.

Freed capacity

Labour freed from waste and rework does not disappear. It becomes available for value-adding activities, increased throughput, or reduced overtime and headcount cost.
